Kolumbien gehört zu den megabiodiversen Ländern mit der größten Artenvielfalt weltweit. Vor allem das Amazonasgebiet und die Orinoquia-Savanne sind von globaler Bedeutung für den Biodiversitäts- und Klimaschutz.
Obwohl mehr als die Hälfte des Landes von Wald bedeckt ist, führt die hohe Entwaldung zu einem erhöhten Ausstoß von Treibhausgasen. Im Jahr 2023 wurden etwa 188.000 Hektar Wald zerstört, vor allem in den Konfliktregionen Meta, Caquetá und Guaviare. Zudem belastet die großflächige Rinderhaltung am Rande des Regenwaldes die Böden und gefährdet die lokale Artenvielfalt. Häufig fehlen wirtschaftliche Anreize und Kenntnisse, um Landflächen umweltfreundlich und effizient zu nutzen.
Ziel:
Ausgewählte Lieferketten, zum Beispiel zu Amazonasfrüchten und Naturkautschuk, sind verbessert. Sie tragen dazu bei, die Artenvielfalt der kolumbianischen Regenwaldgebiete Orinoquia und Amazonien in land- und forstwirtschaftlichen Betrieben zu schützen.
Das Vorhaben arbeitet in vier Schwerpunkten:
1. Es fördert den Austausch zwischen Verantwortlichen, um das regionale Netzwerk zu biodiversitätserhaltenden Lieferketten in ausgewählten Ökokorridoren zu verbessern.
2. Es berät und schult Unternehmen dazu, wie sie biodiversitätserhaltende Lieferketten umsetzen.
3. Es berät Produzent*innen, wie sie natürliche Ressourcen umweltfreundlich nutzen.
4. Es fördert den Wissensaustausch, um geschädigte Ökosysteme wiederherzustellen.
 

Colombia is a mega-biodiverse country with the greatest diversity of species in the world. The Amazon region and the Orinoquia savannah in particular are of global importance for biodiversity and climate protection.
Although more than half the country is covered by forests, the high rate of deforestation is increasing greenhouse gas emissions. Around 188,000 hectares of forest were destroyed in 2023, especially in the conflict regions of Meta, Caquetá and Guaviare. Large-scale cattle farming at the edge of the rainforest is stressing soils and endangering local biodiversity as well. Economic incentives and the knowledge required to use land ecologically and efficiently are often lacking.
Objective:
Selected supply chains, i.e. for Amazon fruit and natural rubber, are improved. They contribute to the protection of biodiversity in agricultural and forestry operations in the Colombian rain forest regions of Orinoquia and the Amazon.
The project operates in four key areas:
1. It promotes communication between various responsible bodies to improve the regional network of supply chains that protect biodiversity in selected ecological corridors.
2. It provides consulting and training for companies on the implementation of supply chains that preserve biodiversity.
3. It provides consulting for producers on the environmentally friendly use of natural resources.
4. It promotes the exchange of knowledge for the restoration of damaged ecosystems.
 

Colombia es un país megadiverso que se incluye entre aquellos que acogen la mayor variedad de especies del mundo. En particular, la región de la Amazonia y la llanura de la Orinoquía revisten una especial importancia a nivel mundial para la protección de la biodiversidad y del clima.
A pesar de que más de la mitad de la superficie del país está cubierta por bosques, la elevada tasa de deforestación conlleva una alta emisión de gases de efecto invernadero. En 2023 se destruyeron aproximadamente 188 000 hectáreas de bosque, principalmente en las regiones en conflicto de Meta, Caquetá y Guaviare. Además, la cría extensiva de ganado vacuno en los márgenes de la selva tropical afecta a los suelos y constituye un peligro para la biodiversidad local. A menudo, no existen suficientes incentivos económicos y conocimientos para aprovechar los terrenos agrícolas de manera eficiente y respetuosa con el medio ambiente.
Objectivo:
Se han mejorado las cadenas de suministro seleccionadas, como las de las frutas amazónicas y el caucho natural. Con ello, se contribuye a proteger la biodiversidad de las áreas de selva tropical de la Orinoquía y la Amazonía de Colombia en las que existen explotaciones agrícolas y forestales.
El proyecto trabaja en cuatro áreas prioritarias:
1. Fomenta el intercambio entre los y las responsables con vistas a mejorar la red regional para fomentar las cadenas de suministro que preserven la biodiversidad en los corredores ecológicos seleccionados.
2. Asesora y forma a las empresas sobre cómo implementar cadenas de suministro que preserven la biodiversidad.
3. Asesora a productores y productoras sobre cómo utilizar los recursos naturales de forma respetuosa con el medio ambiente.
4. Fomenta el intercambio de conocimiento para restaurar los ecosistemas dañados.
